The university of north carolina
Located at the north end of Kenan Stadium on the Chapel Hill campus, the UNC Carillon, officially the Morehead-Patterson Bell Tower, stretches 172 feet into the Carolina blue sky. The fourteen bell carillon, dedicated in 1931, chimes every 15 minutes and lights up in Carolina blue after athletic wins. A focal point for campus traditions, the tower often serves as a backdrop for graduation photographs or other memorable celebratory moments.
Each glass tower sits in a wood base painted in Carolina blue and white. Although the design does not change, each carillon features different glass textures, rendering each a unique piece of art.
